Opens Business in Warehouse District

Supply Resources Inc., a year-old custom packaging and logistics business owned by Rick Barker, has opened its headquarters in Danville's Tobacco Warehouse District.

Barker, a Danville native, spent more than 20 years in the packaging business before deciding to go out own his own a year ago. He currently leases 70,000 square feet of warehouse space on Industrial Avenue, Wilson Street and Lynn Street to hold the company's retail packaging supplies, such as bags, tissues, bows and gift wrap and boxes.

The addition of the offices on Craghead Street, on the ground floor of the historic Link-Watson building, provides company with a central location to operate from, Barker said.

"I wanted to be part of the downtown renovations and really like the Tobacco District," he said.

The company will employ 10 people.
